He cradles the seal pup as carefully as he can, mimicking Alecto's earlier movement; he was familiar enough with human babies, but this was obviously wholly new, and he had no idea what would be reassuring to a baby selkie. He smiles, hoping this was at least similar, and hums quietly, rocking her back and forth in a gentle imitation of the ocean waves. He realizes belatedly that it was the same song he'd heard Alecto humming, that day they'd met (again) in the market; luckily, it seems to work and the little seal pup's eyes flutter in something resembling contentment.
